Our Packaging

We aim to use sustainable packaging materials where possible.  All our packaging is either recyclable, biodegradable or compostable.

Dry Ingredients

The 'plastic' used to package most of our Dry Ingredients in is fact made from NatureFlex™. NatureFlex™ is a 100% home compostable film made from cellulose, derived from sustainable wood pulp.

Liquid Ingredients

Most liquid items are packaged in a recyclable 3-ply leak proof plastic pouch. Our Vanilla Extract and Vegetable Oil are packaged in mini glass bottles and PET bottles, respectively. Both materials are highly recyclable in the UK.

Butter and Eggs

Our Butter is wrapped in 100% biodegradable greaseproof paper. Our Eggs are packaged with cardboard and wood wool, made of wood slivers cut from logs.

Equipment

Most of the handy baking equipment found in your BakesterBox will be reusable. Of those that are tricky to reuse: Piping Bags are made of polyethylene and recyclable; Baking Parchment is biodegradable, but can be wiped down and used repeatedly.

Chilled Insulation

Chilled products are insulated in your box using Pluumo, sustainable thermal packaging material made from surplus feathers. Find out more about Pluumo here.
